sundin puts dagger in toronto's hearts

They are saying how Sundin scored the game winning goal in the shootout and that after he had been playing in Toronto for 13 years, it was very emotional for him. When he got the puck on the ice he got booed a bit but as the game went on it started to turn into more cheering then booing. Sundin had a spectacular goal and he was no doubt voted for the first star of the game. Instead of getting loudly booed he was given a heartwarming standing ovation when he stepped on the ice. Even though he just scored the game winning goal against his former team he was still loved by all the fans. Sundin gave the crowed kisses goodbye and gave a final bow before exiting the ice to go to the dressing rooms.

CBC is saying that Sundin scored the game winning goal in a shootout to extend the canucks winning streak to 8 of 9 games. Sundin did what he usually does in a shootout. He goes in with speed then fakes the shot and goes to the backhand and roofs it top shelf! The building did a video tribute in the first period and then at the end of the game the fans game him a very long standing ovation when he came out as the first star of the game. He was very emotional coming back to toronto and he was loving every minute of it.

The CBC news is talking about how Sundin put like a dagger in the hearts of the toronto maple leafs. When Sundin scored on his former team in the shootout to win it for the canucks. The Toronto Maple leafs fans did not exit the building though, but waited to hear the 3 stars and who else was first star but Mats Sundin. CBC also talks about how Sundin was very emotional coming back to play in his old home and that how he was astonished at how he got such a standing ovation at the end of the game. This just shows you how well some players can be respected when they are loyal and nice to their fans and teammates.
